My Kathak Journey
I have been learning the Lucknow Gharana style of Kathak for the last twelve years. My Guru Anindita Acharjee who is a disciple of Guru Aditi Mangaldas and Pt. Jai Kishan Maharaj has instilled in me a lifelong love for this art form. I practice this physically rigorous dance form regularly and have had eleven public performances including at venues of cultural importance like the Sundar Nursery.

Kathak for me is more than an exercise in discipline and aesthetics. It is a bridge that connects diverse cultures. Through each performance, I aim to celebrate the richness and diversity of our cultural heritage, in the hope of promoting a message of unity, that transcends the differences that often divide us.
In middle school, I had the opportunity of choreographing and performing a piece on a visit to an old age home.

I have successfully completed my studies in Kathak with a Sangeet Prabhakar degree with first-division marks, which is the equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree in Kathak.

Here is a short video of my Kathak Journey and love for dance from the age of 3 to 17, and includes a recommendation by my Guru, Anindita Acharjee

“I have seen her growing from a child to a young girl who is always inquisitive in her learning process…She has helped me in my choreography. She works on the intricacies of the art form and being a young girl I have not ever seen her getting deviated from Kathak, Kathak being a disciplined art form. She is the only child I think, among all, who I feel personally has given me many lessons in forming a lifestyle and how one should be in day-to-day life. A classical art form, she still remains focused”
